Iris for Audine
Friday morning my mother in law, Audine Twilla Artz, 90 1/2 years old, passed away peacefully and is now at home in heaven. My husband encouraged me to participate in the Artwalk in St. Charles anyway. Audine had left us in spirit some time ago and now was released to new life, in heaven with the Lord, her husband and loved ones gone before. So, over the weekend I painted this larger than life Iris in her memory. Here is the purple iris and Audine blossoming in red.

Seems like our iris have been unusually beautiful this year. They are just about at their ends today. (I did go out and get some last minute photos to keep the memory alive.)
ReplyDeleteThis painting is so beautiful, Jerie (as is your mother-in-law). What a fine way to honor her memory.
