"Chicks for Kicks!"

Well after taking photos of chickens in Monet's garden, French friend's gardens, and our daughters six laying hens, I'm crazy about chickens!  I'm getting ready to teach a three week class on painting chickens and having so much fun!

There are still so many inspiration chicken photos left to paint!

My grand kids played for hours with these feathered friends.  As the hens began to lay eggs, it was an added pass time to find an egg.  Perfect answer to "screen time!"  No time for video games or Iphones!

Artz Tour de France 3 Paintings

In June Steve and I took 19 people to France for the Artz Tour de France 3.  We spent two weeks in Paris - two rainy weeks.  But that did not keep us from enjoying ourselves.  Several of us were going to paint, but we all ended up eating more art than we created!

I managed to begin several paintings that are just about finished of some of my favorite scenes.

Painting Spring Flowers....again

Can we ever see enough spring flowers?  When the daffodils start popping up, I can't wait to see the blossoms.  When I saw the little points of green lily of the valley leaves piercing the ground, I waited for those little white bells to appear.  Now it's the iris buds that are getting fuller each day that I'm checking out.  The early white ones are already blooming, the others will soon follow.

So it's time to paint florals while they are making their appearance!

Once again, I'm offering a one day class, Monday, May 20th, 1:30 - 4:30 to paint any flower that each student would like to paint.

Time for another "Fun" damentals of Watercolor Class!

It's been a few years since I've offered a class covering what I consider the fundamentals of watercolor painting.  I call this series of lessons the "fun" damentals of watercolor because having fun with water, paint and papter is what watercolor painting is all about!

This class is for those who are new to watercolor, and a good review for those who have been painting for awhile.

Let the "fun" begin!

Birds of a Feather!

It's been nearly a year since I've taught a watercolor class.  After painting my first bird, a cardinal, I decided to keep painting birds and offer a series of classes.  It has been a joy to paint winter birds and then watch my students have great success as well.

The seasons always inspire me - this time it showed up as birds in the snow!
